(notice the totally different route, this is why I normally ask for an IP of someone when issues of ping arise, so I can get a look from both sides).

As for tfc5, their circuit is still hosed. Since I'm not able to talk to Verizon about it, since it's not my circuit, I'm almost to the point of yanking my business from them completely. This effects tfc5 and tfc6.

Yeah, the bulk of your ping buildup is the cross-country trip:

13 core3-core1-oc48.dfw2.above.net (216.200.127.214) 33.047 ms 32.985 ms 33.490 ms
14 sjc2-dfw2-oc48.above.net (208.184.232.82) 72.247 ms 72.580 ms 72.142 ms

That's the jump that goes from the server to Cali via an oc48 backbone. That one jump accounts for about half of your ping rise. Stupid geography!

I've spoken with that provider, and it seems some of his customers are... well... abusing his generous colo practices. He's working to identify the boxes causing bottlenecks to remedy the problem. A case of people grossly taking advantage of a very nice guy's generous nature. Sucks...

They made some infrastructure changes, most likely router and switch upgrades. Also, they did some work on their backbone connections, so I would imagine that if you see an improvement, that's where it happened.

Servers seem to be normal again. Atleast they held there own for about 4 hours from 4:00 AM to 8:00 Am. I can't check from work but maybe someone else who has a sever there could. TFC5 Texas location.

I may be jumping the gun and the problems are still there but its the best I have seen in a long time.
